Pretty sure the iPad data package is totally independent of current iPhone data packages. So, if you have a phone, you're paying 30 bucks a month for data. if you want an iPad, you pay more another 20 or 30 bucks (don't recall which) for a data package. the kicker is that the iPad is not exclusive to AT&T so anybody can buy one since you aren't tied to your current cell phone provider.
