Here is part of the description in the auction:
Up for auction is an original box of 100 Stag Bar, Pekin Illinois, illegal club gambling chips sold by the Chicago mob’s Taylor Co. in 1949. There are 44 "scarlet" chips and 56 "yellow" chips, as pictured, slightly different distribution from the first box. The chips and the box are in very good condition. The T's running around the rim were for "Taylor," and are part of the proprietary, exclusive, chip mold of the Taylor Company. Since they owned the mold, they could guarantee to their customers that no one else could use a particular imprint on a T-mold chip. An expert chip collector that I contacted about them gave me the following information based on the existing order-shipping records of the Taylor Co. The Taylor card for the chip says: sent to Scott, c/o Stag Bar, 300 Court Street, Pekin, ILL - Dec. 20, 1949 . These vintage chips were used for everything from poker, roulette, and possibly faro. Additional pictures can be provided upon request, also feel free to send any questions.
Low opening bid. No reserve. PayPal only. Shipped via USPS priority mail with insurance and delivery confirmation. US Only.
I'd like to thank Robert (e-Bay User ID: poker-chips-on-line) for all of the information and helpful advice with this item.
I have quite a lot of yellows. I'd sell one for $6.00 postpaid. If you want more than one, quantity discounts.
Robert
