There used to be boxed sets of .999 silver/gold chips offered in the WSJ in the late-60s and early-70s. Some ads were 1/4 and 1/2-page. At the time I was only collecting 1oz .999 Art Bars and didn't fall for the tacked-on, huge premium over spot.
