Silver Strikes are not slabs ...

The plastic capsules in which silver strikes are issued are not slabs. They are merely protective holders that can easily be opened. Slabs are permanently sealed and can only be opened by forcefully breaking apart the plastic housing.

Slabbing occurs when an item such as a coin or chip is submitted to an "impartial" 3rd party (for a fee) to assign a grade and authenticity opinion. Neither of which is a guarantee. Legitimate slabbing companies do not sell their own material, nor do they purchase slabbed material. Rather, they depend on collectors/dealers/investors to submit their material to be graded for which there is a charge. Private outfits who grade/slab/sell their own stuff are not thought of as being very reputable because they certainly are not "unbiased" or "impartial" in their opinions. Also, when pressed as to disclose who are their professional unbiased graders and their qualifications ... most of them refuse to reply.

As for Mr. Scott of Sahara Coins ... he's made some serious unsubstantiated charges against members of CC & GTCC regarding vandalism to his property ... of which no police report was ever filed, nor was any act of vandalism recorded on his video security system in his store ... which according to Mr. Scott he has over a million dollars inventory for sale.

Whose opinion(s)do you value in this hobby? The over 500 individuals (club members and non-club members who have taken the pledge) ... or Mr. Scott whose only interest is financial and could care less about ccgtcc and the hobby?
