you can't make 1000 fine anything. There will always be a few parts of some other element the creeps into your crucible. Canada makes a gold coin they claim is 5-nines pure (.99999 fine). I've never seen anyone claim a higher purity metal sample. Maybe someone in a lab somewhere?
