yes, I was a ref for 13 years & a very good one. worked once at the ACC at Notre Dame for Digger. regular refs were stuck in Chicago (snow) & they hired 2 locals, I had a guy take to to the arena on a snowmobile...what a ride. Digger hollored at his players, but not us. the regular refs arrived & deceided because we were doing such a good job, we would do the whole game. (found this out after the game) Digger came in our dressing room & game me a $300 check for doing the game. This was in the early 80s, retired 3 years later, health issues....

ND won......

still miss it to this day....but being a OLD DOG...it is over...
