My last post was more than 4 days ago. I decided to stop posting for I sensed the whole issue of political debates coming to a head. I saw the potential damage it could cause, perhaps a bit too late.
Yes, I'm very passionate about my beliefs and the love I have for my country.
Yes, I know that I have been the author of some of the posts that have resulted in this infighting though it was never, nor is it now my intent to cause friction amongst friends.
It is this mans opinion that our country it is being destroyed, destroyed from within. I felt as I still do that if I can make even 1 iota of a difference I will have accomplished something.
Others may not agree, so be it.
In regards to racist posts. I have never made one. I don't think I've even hinted at one but I can't be certain at what some might read into things that just are not there.
Even so, I think we have gotten so carried away with political correctness that many are afraid to speak at all with fear that someone is lurking behind a tree to twist and turn their words to mean something other than was intended.
Though I in no way condone racism, sad to say, it still exists and will continue.
(NO, I'm not looking to further comment on this nor debate it)
One final note in regards to club membership.
There are multitudes of people that may not renew, many new members may surface but I think that using politcal posts as an excuse is pretty lame.
One can search the archives of a few years back and come up with a host of names that are no longer found on the board. This is long before politics became such a hot topic.
I'm sure we have many club members that don't even own a computer much less read the board or all the posts.
When money is tight which it is in this economy the first thing one must consider are food shelter and clothing. Hobbies as unfortunate as it might be are way down the list. It's a lot easier to blame something than own up to having to say, I really can't afford to do this anymore.
