Its actually a very good source for finding long lost friends. I've found people, or people have found me, who have been out-of-touch for decades. That's my primary use for the site. I've re-established connections with friends who I haven't seen for a very long time. Finding an old roommate from 30 years ago, one who at the time swore they'd never get married or have kids, now showing photos of their grandchildren with their proud grandparents (them) is a lot of what Facebook is about. Friends and family are what I use it for.
