I have many friends here and would like to think I am friends with nearly everyone even if we disagree on various topics.
This leading post political topic stuff has got to stop!!!!
I am completely against censorship, and the only way I see to avoid that is for us to agree to do our best to see it not become a reality.
How do we do this? We agree not to make political posts that incite these threads and quickly escalate into hateful disagreements.
I know I personally have been responsible for many politial threads in the past, many of which I have started.
About a year ago I became aware of the damage it does when pointed out to me by a good friend. That is when I saw the light and have refrained from making any lead posts since that time.
I apologize to those I offended in those posts and while I cant honestly say I have changed how I feel about what I said, I can say I am sorry that I posted them here on the board.
I cant promise that I will never respond to another political post when I see incorrect information or a one sided point of view expressed, but I can promise to do my best to refrain from starting any of these threads.
If we can all agree to not start them, then there will never be an issue.
I realize that many of us feel strongly about these topics, and being politically active myself, I understand first hand the wish to share my views.
However, understand that we are not going to change someones mind on how they feel on these topics. Making such leading posts will doe nothing but harbor ill will among us friends and it helps no one.
So I ask my friends on both sides of politics, to please help me in making Brian's job easier and improving the hobby and the club by moving beyond such posts.
