A couple things.... The average $3.50/hour plus benefits assembly line workers at the Ford Hermosillo plant earn is a middle class wage in that region of Mexico. Their cost of living is significantly less expensive than ours. Those are highly coveted jobs down there, and in regions relatively close to the border, more people who are employed there making a decent living (by local cost of living standards) means fewer numbers of them crossing the border illegally to further burden America's economy. Better for them to be made there than in China.
