One of the state's largest shopping malls had a pond for a parking lot & the major highway Rt. 95 was partially closed. We lost several electrical sub-stations and a sewer treatment plant to flooding.

The basements of my sister's house, my wife's oldest brother's house & my best friend's house all took on water. Lucky for Carole & I our house is at the top of a hill and built on a slab foundation. All we got was a thin layer of water in the garage near the door from the wind which drained right out.

Today's comic is based on 3 hours of helping my Dad get the water out of his basement. We got the water down & then the foundation sprung a new leak. My parents have 3" of water now but found a pump somewhere!
