John many people who are very well off do not
accept SS as they feel others do need it more. Even if they paid into the SS fund for 30-40 years. This is just the way they feel. I know of 3 relatives that did that for 10-20 years, now all gone. Just an old fashioned way of thinking, and not being greedy. I wish more people felt this way, but today, it is rare.
