Pictured here are two chips, arranged to show both of the different sides. While the chips may be samples, they could also be what has become known as 'Floor Sweepings' i.e., waste left over from trial runs of testing the hot-stamping equipment or other aspects of chip manufacturing. These tests will show if the die is in the right place, is the machine hot enough (or too hot), is the foil ribbon the correct color and/or in the correct alignment with the right tension, etc. Rejects are simply tossed away and somehow find their way into the collector hands, like these.

Quite possibly the chips were made as samples, or co-opted into samples after one side was stamped for Club Cabazon and for reasons we don't know the order was never completed. Rather than toss the chips, a manufacturer logo was added to one side and they then become salesmen samples.

While Dennis of TRKing may know the answer, it seems we do not.

Anyway, when I showed these yesterday I was contacted by a collector who wanted to buy one of them and I sold it. The other one is now also offered on a Best Offer over $24.99 basis.

This means that I will accept a single Best Offer offer over $24.99 from anyone, between now and this Thursday night at 8:00 pm PST.
