2) It completely ignored the Republican suggestions of Tort reform and Insurance portability which in my opinion are the most important topics in reducing health care costs.
3) Even with a huge majority in both the House and Congress the bill still could not pass without opting to vote with the seldom used simple majority rule. Basically they did whatever it took to get this bill signed, no matter what the opposition thought.
4) The majority of Americans do not support the bill. I don't care if you look at polls that say 45%, 40%, 50%, no matter what polls you look at, more people disagree with it than support it. To me that means that the American people don't want it.
5) The quoted costs of the bill is $1,000,000,000,000. That's a Trillion dollars we don't have and someone has to pay for. That someone us us the taxpayers.
6) In a time when the deficit is spiraling out of control and already the highest in history, we are adding to it.
7) While the country is in a severe economic downturn and millions are losing their jobs, our congress has chosen to focus on healthcare instead.
8) It took numerous bribes and backroom deals that we will probably never know about to buy the votes needed to pass.
9) What I believe we need is LESS Government, not more!!!
10) With this bills passing it basically gives the government a precedence to require Americans to buy whatever they decide. What's next, requiring all Americans to buy Flood insurance?
11) Every single thing run by the government is less efficient and corrupt. I have no doubt that this will not be any different.
12) I don't believe for a minute that this is not government run health care as they want to to believe. As soon as it becomes cheaper for companies to drop their own insurance and go with a government one, it will soon become the ONLY option.
13) The LAST thing this country needs in the economic downturn is additional taxes. The only way to pay for this plan is thru new taxes and we will all see them increase.
14) It is unconstitutional. the Federal Government has no right to pass a law requiring the purchase of a good or service and takes all sovereignty out of states hands.
15) If the Government budgets $100 for something, it usually ends up costing $300
I know some will agree with my assessment and others will not. Either way, this is how I personally feel and I know millions of other Americans feel the same way I do.
I don't believe a word that our government tells us. Our politicians in Washington are the most corrupt, power hungry bunch the world has ever seen. Not just the Democrats, ALL of them !!!!
I will not be responding to any additional posts on the topic but I did want to share my final thoughts.
Thanks for listening.
