Yes, my contact from Belarus, Ukraine and Bulgaria, specify that they don't want US chips - they say they are very common, the Caribbean is their top choice, recently with the opening of Singapore, Korean and Malaysia they are shifting their collection over. Macau another area that they don't want to collect. British chips are very much on demand - but what happen with the few casino operators buying out the smaller casinos, changing them to "generic, generic and more generic" chips like Mint, G, Stanley the varieties of chips has been narrowed down to few good ones - I mean the specialty and boutique casinos. Think of going to London for a week or so, to visit the casino - go up the Grosvenor, the Victoria, The Ladbrokes or the Stakis - in and out you go empty. Of course there is the high end club - 1500 pounds membership fee according to David S.
I for one is getting ready to "pasture", I need replacement. Ten years ago when I started every chip was "semi-prime", now the market is saturated with the retiring collections put out. Below face, free shipping, and now and then freebies. As the "young once" getting older and thinking of pasturing soon, unloading the $100 chips collection seems impossible - according to Barry W.
When the club gets new members in the "likes of Fran, Bjorn or Pascoal", in other regions of Eastern Europe, Africa, Latin America, etc. we would be alright - can you imagine the club without Fran - practically 70 to 80 of Spanish chips in our collections are from Spain - very very good "chipconduit".
But you are right the club will continue on and on to the wee hours of chipping civilization.
Personally I learned from the club so many things - sort of informal education - in human behavior, the interpersonal chip relationship(ICR), how to conduct and behave my self in the presence of my elders - the limostuds and until now I am still adjusting and eeking in and out for my "little niche in the world of chipping", among you guys.
Archie Black is making a difference - one new member at a time, I asked permission to "piggy back" in his idea for incentives which he obliged me. I sincerely hope that there will be no conflict with some members or someone's chipping pattern.
Thanks JB.
