~~~ treat them well simply because all their toil is highly-respected by the way management treats their product with proper storage, handling and presentation... Can't say that for any major supermarket I've been shopping at for the past 35 years; and they're buying from the same local growers. I've never seen a wilted iceberg, napa or boc choy in Walmart, but the stink of touched fruit in Publix and Winn-Dixie would scare a hog away... Walmart is simply the best in my opinion... and not for all the reasons I've mentioned, alone... but because Walmart hires people that nobody else will.
