Re: Maybe our President can learn something here

Yes, some people will get hurt and I too fall into that category but it IS time for change. I would rather sacrifice a little now than let this careless spending go on.

Bob - I'll let you know when the dust settles how much my property taxes go UP in the next year to support all of Mr. Christie's cuts. Considering we have the highest property taxes of any state already, it really makes me wonder. My local once/week newspaper just arrived in the mail today and I'll read you the headlines from the 3 front articles.

  • 19 teacher cuts, 11 cent tax hike seen as aid sinks
  • Robbinsville to lose $227,000 from state
  • Towns lose thousands in state aid

Article ONE...An 11-cent hike in the school tax rate would mean an increase of $550 in the annual bill of a homeowner assessed at $400,000.

Article THREE...Under the proposal, the tax rate would rise from 40 cents per $100 of assessd vale to 52 cents. In this case, a homeowner assessed at $387,781 would pay $2016 in municipal taxes, an increase of $407 from 2009.

I don't think these 2 tax incresaes overlap, but quite honestly I don't follow this stuff as closely as others. Not sure I'll be able to afford to live in this state much longer...

Yep, BLAZING GUNS alright, pointed right at every average individual in the state of new jersey.

Couple that with the fact that the current Health Bill is going to tax the Tanning Salons and put them out of business or make them raise rates, I sure am hoping for a SUNNY spring soon so I can work on my tan in the back yard! rofl
