One thing that seems to be missing is the 10th amendment...States right. While it may be too little too late, a significant amount of elected officials are working on some variation of home rule in Nevada. Hard to believe Nevada is one of only 4 or 5 states the dosen't have some type of home rule in the books. When you look at the extreme cost of medicare, medicaid and another sensitive issue...collective bargaining (specifically healthcare) has on all states ability to balance a budget, it is mind boggling to even think of adding forced healthcare! All mandates eventually become unfunded, even if created with good intentions. The people are not going to take being squeezed for more taxes and less services. I belive the majority of our country has little problem helping people get to their feet. I just want to create the environment for them to walk on their own. The incentives to keep receiving government help are just to great, and getting larger as seen by yesterday's vote. I may not be the smartest tool in the shed......mainly I'm just a tool!! But, I assure you we are on the wrong path! My county just hit 14.8% unemployment. Not sure how the healthcare bill is going to help......Doug
