Right now the country is just about equally devided between liberals & conservatives. The last three Presidential elections prove it. To me that means no politician is going to stray to far from his/her base to take a risk by compromising. This is a bad because the only way to move forward is compromise.
As for a sweeping out of the Democrats in November I don't believe it will happen for several reasons:
1. The majority of the protesters weren't going to vote Democrat anyway
2. The "Tea Party" are mostly disgruntled Republican voters
3. Unlike the Iraq War the Health Care bill will not be in the news everyday with a casualty number
4. Generaly speaking Americans have a short attention span
5. Many Americans don't care enough
6. Most Amercians can't tell the difference between government & politics
7. Too many Americans get their opinions from listening to people like Rush Limbaugh & Keith Oberman
8. Young people today are used to entitlements from their parents so government entitlements make sense
Time will tell but this is how I see it.
I respect everyone's right to disagree or have different opinions.
I welcome open and civil debate.
Have a great day.
