Doug... There is no way any Republican will take up this issue in the future; they had eight years under Bush to try.. and while it's generally accepted that CBO shows how this will not run us amuck because it'll be paid for up to and thru 2020 (unlike Bush's Medicare Part D Drug program).

My only question (well, maybe a few ) to you is; what all will the Republicans be running on in 10 and 12 should this gig fly... while the Dems will be boasting of all the good they did? Do the Republicans stand up and shout that the program is no good? Do you think John Q. Public is going to remember or even care (as they forgot about how Part D became enected -- and are only too happy to pick up their meds cost-free or a great savings) or remember how it got thru [which you seem to have forgotten by the questions you pose. ]...?
