"Back-to-back interlaced C's"

I would like to see the example you mention since I now recall that one of my "CC" chips did not come from France, but rather from a vendor in South America who has handled some chips from Cuba...

The chip I illustraded with the die-cut CC/5 has gotten so many attributions thru the years. At one time I sold lots of 50 to 100 examples to a few chip dealers who have been kown to have vivid imagination grin describing the chip as an "O" on the obverse and being from New Orleans... One dealer claimed the chips were from San Juan... and another said he was sure they were French because he knew the monogram used on metal jetons (Inever saw the jeton). The fact is; these chips came from Chicago and the worse-condition examples were cigarette-stained. Where they were used prior, I do not know... thus my post asking if any info surfaced.
