I have been on an "internet-buying" kick lately. Can't believe some of the deals that even include free shipping lately....I may never go to the mall again .
So anyway, this week I have 4 items being delivered via UPS/FedEx.
Yesterday I opened my email and there was a pretty spiffy looking notice on a problem with delivering an item via UPS that I had ordered Jan 5th. Supposedly they were unable to deliver my package as they were unable to find my home. Hum, it's possible - we do live out in the middle-of-nowhere.
I came alittle too close for comfort, of opening the attached file (to get more info on the problem and where to pick my package up at) when it suddenly hit me....I didn't order anything around Jan 5th!!!!!!
Sure enough, I forwarded the email to UPS and they replied today that not only is the email a scam but also contains a Trojan virus.
Wheew, that was too darn close for me!
So if you are dealing with UPS/FedEx/etc , be very, very careful about email notices that are actually coming from some low-life sitting in an smokey internet room somewhere in Nigeria (or wherever it may be) trying to jack with your life .
