Omar Abdel-Rahman, the "blind Muslim Cleric" behind the first WTC bombing was legally here at that time because of the last full scale illegal immigration amnesty. The blanket program that Reagan agreed to sign into law in 1986 was a mistake in that it not only set precedent, it gave constitutional rights to people like Abdel-Rahman. I can sort of understand the reasons behind the first amnesty. I can't understand the reasons for wanting to do it again. Oh, yes I can. The amnesty recipients this time are likely to vote Democrat because they'll get more free stuff. It's all about power. Create an additional voter base, and you might remain in power. It isn't about what most of us want or care about. Obama, Reid and Pelosi need to bribe people to get elected while putting this country in an unrecoverable financial situation.
