Vegas ain't A.C. ....
I have no problem taking my wife, my mother (when she was alive), my kids, my grandchildren to Atlantic City ... and do so regularly. By far, most of the violent crime in A.C. is black on black crime ... usually related to drugs. I don't ever recall reading a story about someone's kids being attacked... and never on the beach (which is free). Yes, casino business is off due to nearby competition, but as the newness wears off and the summer season approaches, I too am bullish on A.C. Outlet stores at "The Walk" and the restaurants and shops at Tropicana are more crowded than the casinos.
Comparing Las Vegas to Atlantic City is like comparing New York to Philadelphia. There is no comparison ... never was. Vegas wins hands-down ... and they have their crime issues as well! There are lots of areas in Vegas that I wouldn't take my wife and kids to either.
