Re: How did we rule out France for this chip?

I do not know how old. However, if I had to guess I would say late 50s early 60s. The notch Deauville 2 never saw a casino table. It is in new condition. If you look at the other Deauvilles on my site you can see some yellowing of the inlays. Also it is the same style as c&s made by Burt in the 1950s and early 1960s (Flamingo roulettes, Dunes roulettes, etc). In the 1970s c&s made by Burt have a distinctly different look (see Sahara-Tahoe, John Ascuaga Nugget, Sharkey, etc)

I don't believe a roulette looking like the Deauville 2 was made after 1960s. I know Jim at ASM can't make this type chip or I would have had one made for myself.

Why do you want to know how old? It is not USPC. It is early Burt. I would say second generation Burt.

I made up the scan below to show the different generations of c&s. This is my best guess although no one has disagreed with me -- so far. The Deauville 2 falls into the "Burt 1950s to 1960s" category.

DO you agree with the above?
