I would bet that there are hundreds of old USPC c&s with burgees. I have noted that most burgees from NYYC were ordered thru Abercrombie & Fitch. I'm betting that A&F advertised in the NYYC monthly mag. Now what filthy rich club member would not want to have a custom made set for their yacht?

Of course burgee crest & seals were privately owned. Such chips seeing the light of day are slim. I'm sure a club member like J.P. Morgan had a set or sets made for his yachts. I don't forsee them showing up on ebay anytime soon.
