It was the Nevada Hotel (or Hotel Nevada), then became the Sal Sagev. In 1955-1956 a group of Italians from San Francisco opened the casino and named it the Golden Gate Casino (they probably leased the space). According to this website, in 1974 they bought the hotel and renamed it the Golden Gate:

The Sal Sagev chip would be at the top of my most wished for chips, but probably won't happen . Here's some other Sal Sagev items that we have...
The cup was bought on ebay, from a seller who had an antique shop in Las Vegas. She told us that the cup was brought in by a dump digger, who found it at the Sunrise Mountain dump site...which was only used for a year or so in 1951. It's in perfect condition...rare for something that came from a dump!
The small plate was also found at the Sunrise Mountain site...but not in perfect condition . You can see the line where it was broken in half and glued.
They used glass swizzle sticks back then...
This card is from the 1950's
This card is date-coded 1936
We also have a menu from the Sal Sagev, but I don't seem to have a scan...
