I had a friend that had a 68 Chevy 2 door and the paint job alone cost as much as the car. It was one of the coolest paint jobs I had ever seen. It started at the rocker panels in pure white and went through all the colors of the spectrum finally ending with a black roof. To add to that, it was also metalflaked and then laquered. It can't really be described well, it would have had to been seen but it was a real head turner
And yes, it did wind up in an accident the front left quarter and you know the insurance didn't cover it.
Anyway, Thanks for posting the picture of the '65 Riviera. Imho one of the prettiest cars ever designed.
Here was a car with classic lines and only minor chrome, it didn't need it. Too bad you didn't have a picture of the back as that too was as nice as the front and kept the same checkerboard theme. Sometimes, plain really IS better.
On the down side, I don't think I ever saw one that was more than a year or two old where the clamshell headlights still worked.
Yep get me one, a GS with the big engine and yeah a steering wheel the size of a tire LOL
If you have a picture or wish to post it, going to the opposite extreme, another of my favorites was the 61 and 62 Oldsmobile Starfire there they went a bit overboard with the aluminum side trim
Unfortunately if you lived New York with a ton of people that could care less about other peoples property, you would be replacing thsat trim on a regular basis from all the dings in it.
Anyway, thanks again for postin the picture.....Maybe one day I will own one of those again. Guess it would be trying to relive my childhood
