my suggestion is not to use the software that comes with it. the drivers are fine, and they provide the epson scan software for acquiring the image from the scanner. Its a Twain compliant standard software/scanner so you can use a good image program like Photoshop Elements. It will import the scan from the scanner (using the epson scanner software) in a raw mode allowing you to manipulate the image before saving it.
