The sad part here is Americans have lost focus on what is important.
How else did we get people like Arnold Schwarzeneger, Ronald Raegan, Jesse Ventura, Clint Eastwood, and others elected to public office.
No, I'm not saying that these people haven't done a good job but the question here is what got them elected. It certainly wasn't political know how or ability
I guess time will tell. Two years prior to this past election I doubt anyone would have considered Obama as a serious candidate for the job.
I want what is best not for alone me but for America and though I'm quite a staunch Republican I could see myself voting Democratic if I thought it was the best choice.
I would like to see the office of President to be one term 6 years and the same to be true for Senators and Congressmen. Sure, there are many reasons why that isn't practical but think of what the government might be like if politicians didn't have to pander to special interest groups or spend the majority of their time making sure they get re elected.
Do you really think that we would be facing issues especially things like illegal immigrants if politicians had no worries about being re elected? I think we would have a different America most likely a better one
