I think you not only have an absolutely fabulous collection. One to be proud of and the envy of many, most likely the best C&S collection out there. This not to mention all the other goodies in your collection.
While these items have considerable value and many can honestly be called rare, from an investment point I would still view it as risky.
Why you might ask? Well if you take the amount of members the club has and even multiply that by 5 for the amount of chip collectors you still have a limited market of only 25,000 people.
Subtract from that those that collect C&S chips and you have reduced that number by 95% if not more.
Then factor in if were hard times came and you had to divest yourself of your collection how many potential buyers would there even be not to mention those having the funds to buy a collection.
Yes, I realize it takes only one but does that one exist?

That actually brings up another point. Aside from a dealer buying a collection who would most likely break it up. Would I really want to buy a collection. Isn't the trip of getting to where you are, finding a new chip, doing the research and all the rest the real reason to collect?

It is for that reason if no other I collect for the joy of collecting. I have never looked at this hobby as an investment. You may or may not know but at one point I owned 1/2 of an art gallery. We didn't sell cutsie pictures of little girls with big eyes but quality prints many in the 5 figure range.
I learned a lot doing that.
The lot I learned is collect what you love and if by miracle it increases in value consider yourself lucky.

I think if you looked at all those that view our hobby as a business or more of a business than a hobby, you would be hard pressed to find a good handful of those that actually make a living at it
