I wonder how many old casino owners or card dealers have a jar or a rack of these 'rare' chips just buried in their underwear drawers. This is a fairly new hobby and most of the originally owners and dealers are arguably still alive. Who's to say that full racks of these wonderful chips aren't still around. And top that with the fact that the bigger casinos are still in operation, so who's to say they don't have a ton of them sitting in a vault or a garage? If I was an owner and we swapped out chips, I'd keep a stack of them once they became obsolete, just for keepsakes. I know someone here will say that that's illegal, but so is stealing chips from a roulette table....
Makes you wonder.
