... I could vote- if I did not nominate. The problem I had with nominations was that I (and I am sure others) did not know what all chips debuted that year. I wanted to nominate chips that I discovered were released in a prior year. And later discovered chips released that year had gone unnoticed by me or I would have nominated. Since I was so uninformed I stopped participating.

Currency collectors do the same thing each year BUT every new issue is shown during the year in our publication- everyone KNOWS which notes are out there and in the running for nomination. CHIPS, on the other hand you are lucky to have a small partial list unless you very diligently keep up with it all year. Therefore members tend not to participate- at least that is my reason.

I would like to see VMOTY (Vintage Member Of The Year) -- I would nominate Robert Touts and Archie Black (they both shot craps with Columbus on Plymouth Rock!) !
