It's not cheap to fly a small dual engine plane! And there's no room for paid staff, security, vehicles and servants on a six seat plane! (I'm not suggesting he fly in a six seat plane.)
I was never a big Bush fan nor am I affiliated with any political party. As far as I'm concerned both the Democrats and Republicans are SO far off their original party platforms, its highly unlikely both parties, 40 - 50 years ago, would claim to be associated with anyone who claims to to be either of the two, today.
That being said, the kind of spending going on for NEW programs right now is not a reflection of work. A lot is flawed, don't get me wrong, but rather than start something new, fix what's broke!
All I hear from both sides is how bad each system is - like health care. My wife works for Aetna and specializes in Medicare. Her biggest complaint is how PROVIDERS are ripping off the government left and right, charging insane amounts of money for very inexpensive procedures and sometimes billing for things that have not been done. Many times submitting claims twice! Can that be fixed? Uh, yeah... I would think so. NOT by getting rid of what we have now. FIX IT.
Mike, I know you weren't poking at me or anything like that and I've never really posted anything to do with politics until recently, and compared to what I've seen posted on this board, mine really isn't much of a slap in the face to anyone (I'd hope). Things have just been brewing here at home and may be coming to a head very soon. Tension is high and anxieties are definitely increasing. So, my apologies if I've offended you or anyone else.
As for spending foolishly - I couldn't agree with you more. 
I sure hope I put the right emPHAsis on the right syllABles.
