I was wandering around New Mexico casinos this weekend, and noticed a disturbing trend.
It looks like at least two casinos have gone “chipless” The table games have been
removed, replaced by large multiplayer electronic games. Since I am primarily a token collector, I have
reconciled myself to all of the casinos going TITO. But I also dabble in regional chips.
Well – it looks like chips may be going the way of tokens.
Another reconciliation is looming in the future, I guess
Now New Mexico is not a trend-setter among states.
It is true we do lead the nation in bubonic plague and DWIs and hantavirus, but not much else.
So I assume going chipless is happening elsewhere.
But I wonder when the only collectable left will be slot cards.
