50 Years ago, Train Stuff

One day last week I was walking through the Train and on top of one of the Garbage Cans was a Newspaper. The Mailing label covered up some of it but what I saw said Bosco. My dad grew up in Boscobel WI so I went back to see if it was The Boscobel Dial which it was. My mind really doesn't remember much untill I was 11 But I remember riding the Train to Grandma's house. I remember He took me up into the Locomotive. I remember Getting to Boscobel Early in the Morning. And I remember Having French Toast in the Diner coming into Madison WI. I looked through the Newspaper and found this article. Apparently the train was Discontinued in Jan of 1960 which would have meant that I was 9 or 10 when I rode the train. You used to be able to get almost anywhere Riding a Passenger Train I think we lost something somewhere.

Amtrak sort of brags that they serve 500 Cities. We have almost 250 Commuter Stations in Chicago alone.

Well so much for remanicing
