...in 1992 I was rummaging around an antique shop just off the Quarter. In a dusty old cabinet clear in the back of the shop were six chips from O'Dwyer's illegal casino in N.O. from the 40's. They were very cool looking, and I loved the idea of the history behind them. I was hooked! I bought 'em all and started collecting illegals. I then started pocketing chips from the casinos I played at, in the US and abroad. Like some of you have mentioned, those are special mementos, and I don't trade those memories. I now have about 500 in my modest collection, spend way too much time on eBay watching chips, and love the hobby more than ever!
