My point was that, in my opinion, you waaaaay overreacted to Al's post. Yes, reading your auction you say to email you with questions. Your auction also indicates that the chips can be removed from the holders...and someone who understands what slabs are would be aware that the contents of slabs aren't meant to be removable. Maybe he didn't read the whole auction...?
As for why Al would ask the board, instead of emailing the seller...I can come up with a couple of guesses:
1. he's seen similar posts on the chipboard, where someone asks questions about ebay auctions
2. he trusts the chipboard residents more than he trusts an unknown ebay seller
3. an ebay seller might or might not even know what a slab is
Your phrase "can of worms" usually indicates that someone has posted something controversial. Al posed a question to the board, several people responded with the information that he was looking for. No can of worms, no fuss.
I could understand your reaction if Al had come to the board and said something like "BEWARE!!!!! SLABBER ON EBAY!!! WHAT A SCAM!! HE'S TRYING TO HIDE THE WEAR ON A CHIP BY STICKING IT IN A SLAB!!!! WATCH OUT FOR THIS GUY!!! LET'S ALL EMAIL HIM AND TELL HIM WE WON'T BUY FROM HIM!!! BEWARE!!!"
To me, THAT would be malicious and disparaging and would deserve your anger.
"Slabbed chip on ebay?" with a link to the auction, to me, is just a newer chipper who is wondering if an auction that he saw on ebay is a slabbed chip or not. That's all...just a question.
It's not likely that you'll agree with me, obviously you feel that you and your auction were attacked...I don't feel that you or your auction were attacked.
