Funny story about that. I was at the Aria poker room prior to them starting tournaments. I was with another member who also deals at Bellagio and we were talking to the room managers. He asked me what type of tournament and price range I would want. My suggestion was similar to what they implemented -- I am sure I had zero to do with it, but its nice to hear. My suggestion was whether they wanted to siphon off the tournaments at Bellagio or be "yet another poker room with daily tournaments" or try something different -- make a tournament that an average player can afford and get the feeling that they are getting some play. I do very well at the Showboat AC tournaments but I see two hands and the blinds double (15 minute rounds). They want the tourney to last 3 hours or so, and they don't start with enough chips --- you can't be patient, you will get blinded away. And I told him I would like to see a tourney where you get some play and won't cost me what a Venetian or Bellagio deep stack goes for. I also want to get some value for the buy-in (Orleans is at like a 30% or so vig).
