I read Syndicate Wife right after it was written, forgot the year. I liked it.
If fact I have an autographed copy packed away somewhere. I met Hank Messik back in the 60's.

I came on the Newport scene 1961 just about the time most of the gambling closed up.
The operators had a lot of good poker games with all that time on their hands.
