History tells us that the Mongol Court (as early as 13th-Century; Southern China) had referred to the newly formed city/state of Ayutthya as "Hsien" which was pronounced something similar to Sayam/Siam; later Thailand. Thai culture is mainly influenced by Chinese (and Indian) culture.

No matter where his mother is from or no matter what here culture was; Woods would have ("his mother's culture") been better off following those family values other than the mess he brought upon himself.. not even thinking of his wife or children.

I see no excuse or reasoning that it was okay for him to do what he did...
