~~~ to fully understand what all exactly the "HANG A SOLD SIGN" actually meant... which: 1) you did not comply with and 2) Mark did not comply with, either... and the only person who did comply with the instructions [terms of sale] was Jay.
Now, am I being picky or am I simply just trying to iron out any kinks for future attempts to offer an item under the "HANG A SOLD SIGN" method...!
I'm not saying who is right or wrong for following the seller's request or not following the seller's request... and I think most who have opinions in this thread are simply trying to point out that if a seller makes a request in a proposal as to how the sale should be carried out; all parties involved in the sale should honor the seller's terms... and nobody is suggesting what Mark should or should not do after admitting he made an error and nobody is saying that Mark should have corrected his error... and nobody is saying that Mark is wrong for doing what he did... except Mark.
I asked a question [re: HANG A SOLD SIGN] and from what responses I received I still see that it's a "Free-For-All" approach being a disorganized rush/race/contest that anyone can enter under any rules that suit them regardles of even attempting to consider the seller's rules or anyone else for that matter...
Though the imidiate matter has been settled between the seller, buyer and the person who accepted the terms and followed through as requested... nothing else has for this to not happen again.... so I got nowhere for even bringing it up.
IMO, it's generally a practice that a buyer will do whatever is possible to gain the item being offered, but it is the seller who is the only person who should be responsible to see that the terms of the sale are followed thru as the seller requested.
