This is the entire set of Argosy chips that Paulson's had for sale. There was 2 of each chip made except for the $100, the chip run was nearly complete, when the Gaming Commission rejected the chip design, and made Argosy change the design. There were to be 2 of each for the main set and the backup set. I purchased these chips back in June of 1998. It wasn't long after that, that Argosy representatives found out these chips, that were supposed to be destroyed, were being sold as novelty items. Paulson's immediately stopped selling the chips and destroyed the balance of the chips. The story I got from an Argosy employee, was about 2 years ago, there was a guy who showed up on a Friday night, and cashed in a couple of the chips, and was payed off. The chips were noticed once they got into the cage, but the person had already left. Unfortunately for him, he got greedy, and went back Saturday night to try again. The security claimed to have narrowed it down to a certain few people at the window that night, and kinda knew who they were looking for. He was apprehended, and was prosecuted to the full extent. The cashier who took the chips on Friday night was subsequently fired.
