I have the discontinued V200, which is fine. Same software and connections, I bought it because it was small enough to fit in a computer bag and had the back light for scanning slides and film. Looks like everything else is the same, maybe better with the V30. V300 is the same unit with the back-light for negatives and slides.

Yes, it's very easy. Mine has good color recognition.

One of those deals where the software offers you options, basic, moderate and experienced. (whatever they call them) They all work just about the same, except each one gives you more control. The intermediate mode with just about everything automatic, is just fine.
