I would expect that very few people close a deal with actual cash rather than a check or other form of single payment. Even so, and if you did use cash and they reported it, it is still no big deal if there is a trail of where it came from- bank withdrawal, cashed oil check, sale of something (other than drugs), etc.

Research on pricing is just one tool of many one should use I agree, I was just exploring other avenues that might have benefits.
