While I believe in helping people in need, it seems that only some people get that help.

A short time ago a major hurricane hit the Galveston coastline close to my home. The Bolivar Peninnsula was devistated. Most of the island is just gone with no signs of life ever being there. Many people will never be found as they were washed away to sea. Hundreds if not thousands of homes are gone and the community basicly ceased to exist.

Where were our Presidents then? Did Bono run a concert for the help in rebuilding that community? Did anyone outside of Texas even know it happened?

And these folks who are still struggling to rebuild thier lives over a year later have gotten little or no Government assistance whatsoever.

Here is the real kicker, these people are AMERICANS !!!!!

Our country has no problem pledging hundreds of millions of $'s to relief of people in Foreign Countries, yet seem to forget about our own.
Many Senators agree that this is just a drop in the bucket and the US will end up committing many times more than that in this effort.

And what are we doing? We are pledging to rebuild a country run by thugs ans thieves, where the people will only get 10% of what is sent and many lived in shacks without running water even before this terrible tradegy occured.

Our Government is pledging money that they dont even own. They are giving away OUR Money. Me along with millions of other taxpayers are financing this effort wehter we like it or not.

And we do this while right here in our own country there are people without enough food to eat, without a place to sleep, and without proper clothing on thier backs. In a country where millions have lost thier jobs and can no longer support thier family.

While I agree 100% in sending in rescue teams and immediate necessities, I am not onboard with a Rebuilding effort. At least when that effort consists of 90% monies from the US (Mine and your pockets).

So, there lies my conflict......
