... obsolete casino chips (jetons/plaques) that have been replaced in many countries by the euro. I do not know of any one casino in any country where the monetary unit of the casino is the euro accepting their previous monetary unit chips, jetons or plaques on any game... In those countries' casinos the term obsolete is "forever" since the previous monetary unit has been replaced (but still accepted in banking transactions, somewhat). grin Though I wonder if a chip with a denomination without depicting a monetary unit (say a DM1) can be used in a casino who might not use the euro sign as in Germany.
