I know this was discussed long ago, frankly I didn't recall if it was ever resolved to a point where obsolete had one meaning that covered most if not all situations.
I have to admit a bit of laziness in not reading the archives but I suppose my post did reach a lot of the new members who might be asking the same question.

I think what we all have to keep in mind is that there ARE several definitions of what obsolete means
