Here are the correct answers.
First the easy ones.
#1 Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini
#3 Ken Norton Sr.
#5 Kenny Smith
#6 Bobby Hull
Both Larry and Jeff got all 4 of those right.
The hard ones however are 2 of the 3 that have Houston connections.
#4 was "Super" Mario Ellie. Houston Rockets fans will remember him as a star after he drained several 3's in game winning situations during the playoffs to propel the Rockets to back to back NBA Championships. I think he later plated several years in San Antonio
#2 was the one I thought was the hardest to get. It is Cleveland "Big Cat" Williams. Although he was rated as one of the finest Boxers to ever not win a title, his most memorable fight was against Ali in the new Astrodome here in Houston in 1966. On an interesting note, when I was searching the web for more clues the other day the first hit I got was this site http://www.webgalleria.com/Williams.html . Interesting that he is wearing the same exact jacket as he was when I got his autograph.
So with Larry and Jeff being the only ones to guess at 4 of them I think thye will both be winners of my 3rd place prize. I will email both later today with scans of several chips to choose from for thier prizes.
Thanks to all who looked and guessed and my next contest will be a bit easier.
