How to clean a hot stamp chip without damaging the hot stamp.
1) Remove the black grunge spots with a fingernail.
2) With a finger, gently rub in Sterling's Magic all around the chip, both sides. Make sure that you get the center area as clean is possible only using finger pressure.
3) Put a little Sterling's Magic on a SOFT bristled toothbrush. Place your thumb over the center of the chip, and clean about 1/4 of the mold area at a time with the toothbrush. Clean one section at a time and rotate the chip to the next section when done. Turn the chip over and repeat. Your thumb should always cover the hot stamp, preventing the toothbrush from making any contact with it.
4) Clean the edge of the chip with the toothbrush.
5) Rinse away excess dirt and cleaner with warm water.
6) Dry the chip by tamping (not rubbing) with a towel.
